19 January 2021 - The Falkland Islands Government introduces Covid-19 lateral flow testing

Today, ExCo approved the use of lateral flow testing as part of the Falkland Islands Government’s Covid-19 swabbing programme.

19 January 2021 - Changes to northbound travel requirements from the Falkland Islands to the UK

On Friday 15 January, the UK government announced some new travel requirements for passengers entering the country from 4am on Monday 18 January.

18 January 2021 - Public urged to ensure they are registered with KEMH as part of vaccination planning

As part of planning for the forthcoming Falkland Islands Covid-19 vaccination programme, KEMH is asking the public to make sure that they are a registered patient of the hospital.

13 January 2021 - Falkland Islands Government extends hugely successful TRIP scheme

Since its launch in October 2020, the Falkland Islands Tourism Recovery Incentive Programme – known locally as the ‘TRIP scheme’ – has proved incredibly successful. To date, 2,317 people have registered for the scheme, which is over 75% of the population.

In line with its commitment to regularly review the measures in place to prevent and control the spread of Covid-19 in the Falkland Islands, ExCo has determined new protocols for airport government-designated inbound public transport, operated by Penguin Travel.

12 January 2021 - Falkland Islands to receive Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine next month

The Falkland Islands Government is pleased to announce that it expects to receive 3,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in the first week of February 2021.
