We're the largest landlord in Stanley

The Falkland Islands Government owns and operates over 265 properties ranging from bedsits to 4 bed detached houses. The properties are split into 2 pools: furnished contractor properties and unfurnished local properties. The housing officer is tasked with making the best use of the properties to maximise rental income whilst providing adequate accommodation to contract officers and accommodating residents in need.

Contract officers are normally allocated accommodation as part of their employment terms with FIG. They pay rent for their properties in line with resident's rates.

Residents must apply to be housed by completing an application form that is assessed using a points system. The more points you score, the higher your priority is considered.

The properties are managed on a day to day basis by the Housing department at Megabid.
